Read morePublished August 31, 2021 — Hamburg-based shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has ordered another 75,000 teu dry boxes. The containers will be manufactured in China and delivered to Hapag-Lloyd in the course of Q4/2021. Since the beginning of 2020, Hapag-Lloyd has ordered no less than 625,000 teu. The carrier has currently built up a container fleet of more than 2.8 million teu, among them 250,000 teu reefer containers for refrigerated cargo.

Usually, the terminal handles about one quarter of the port’s container cargo. Operations at Ningbo Meishan port terminal were suspended on 11 August 2021, after a single case of Covid-19 was reported among the terminal's staff. All inbound and outbound container operations at Meishan terminal in Ningbo-Zhoushan port have been redirected to other terminals since Wednesday morning until further notice.
