Tandem Turkey (Element International) ships locomotive to Portugal

Our Tandem partners in Turkey, Element Int'l Forwarding & Logistic Ltd were requested to ship one so called Plasser & Theurer Machine weighing 62 tons, from Gebze Train Station to the nearest port Gemlik and all the way down to Vigo, Spain by a breakbulk carrier.
The field size was too restricted to properly load the 22 meter long shipment onto a 18 axle hydraulic lowbed with three cranes, so our colleagues had to move the machine by a locomotive to another available train station. The field exit was also too small to make a U-turn to exit, making it necessary to remove the door and a mast. Once they delivered the machine to the port, they devanned it onto a 72 inch MAFI using cranes, and they finished the lashing operation with 28 chains and 6 meter wooden beams.
