14th Annual General Meeting in Charleston was a major success

More than 100 meeting participants and accompanying persons gathered in Charleston, South Carolina, from 8-10 May for Tandem Global Logistics Network’s 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM). The event was hosted by founding fathers and shareholders of our cooperative network, CH Powell Company dba Tandem Global Logistics USA at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina. This resort offered us a spectacular view with large container vessels entering and departing from the Charleston harbor, passing the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge and the USS Yorktown.
The three key elements that stood out from our Executive Board’s annual report were the improved coverage that we managed to achieve, the progress we’ve been making with our Business Intelligence Platform and the newly formed Young Tandem Professionals panel and their suggestions that we implemented. New partners UEI Logistics Singapore, KGW Malaysia and KTSL Cambodia introduced themselves to the other Tandem partners. And via the break out sessions “Sales & Growth” in 7 groups which were chaired by a board member, we exchanged thoughts with with the more than 80 representaives from 45 countries accross 6 continents, about how we can be better prepared for the future and how we can increase our combined volume. The afternoon sessions were used for the traditional bilateral business development meetings. The AGM was concluded with a delicious gala dinner that Tandem USA had arranged for everyone and we announced that next year’s venue will be hosted by Tandem Morocco (WE Logistics) in Marrakech. This will be the first time that our AGM will be held on the African continent, an exciting milestone as Tandem Global Logistics moves forward through global collaboration!
