TGLN appoints ICL - Intermodal Container Logistics as new agents in Romania

Published September 26, 2017

It gives us great pleasure to inform you that we have appointed ICL Intermodal Container Logistics to represent us exclusively in Romania. ICL Intermodal Container Logistics SRL Romania are a branch office of ICL Intermodal Container Logistics GmbH, Austria, who have been representing us since 2011. Owner and administrator of the ICL Group is Mr. Herbert Drack.

ICL Romania was founded in mid-2015 as a consequence of the increasing business operations of ICL Group on the Romanian market and the Black Sea region (including Bulgaria and Moldova). With growing container volumes via sea, rail and intermodal services as well as FTL forwarding operations into Romania, ICL’s Group management decided to establish a new entity on the Romanian market in order to better serve existing customers in the region with a solid organizational structure (incl. an experienced sales force / account management team).

Their current core business is strongly container-oriented (including tank containers), with substantial volumes on the basis of intermodal services. The service portfolio includes ocean freight via port of Constanta (mainly FCL short sea and deep sea transportation – import and export), port terminal operations, rail services, container trucking, port and inland storage services.
ICL Romania is additionally serving a range of customers within the European Union and Russia with intermodal solutions into Romania, entering Romania via North European Ports and numerous EU countries. These services include DAT and DAP deliveries via Central Europe (Hungary as transit country) to and via Romanian inland container terminals such as Curtici and Ploiesti.

Additionally (and with efforts to substantiate existing volumes) ICL can offer LCL and airfreight shipments. They are able to provide the entire range of services needed such as pick up and deliveries, handling and packing, customs formalities as well as storage at OTP or Bucharest warehouses. Furthermore ICL Romania cooperates with ICL GmbH Austria in order to secure cost effective solutions via VIE airport. With two employees currently dealing with air freight requests, ICL is optimistic to increase existing turnover from air shipments via OTP. The know-how and expertise already exists, the required sales strategy for air shipments is being implemented.

The ICL Romania team currently consists of 5 people, with 3 persons in operations and 2 persons in sales. ICL signed our agency agreement and we created a page on the TGLN website, where you will find their full style contact details.

I trust that now that we have an official Tandem office in Bucharest, this will create many new opportunities and I hope you will give our colleagues at ICL Romania the necessary support to develop new business!

Thanks/Best Regards,
